Corporate Social Responsibility Policy
CSI is a project aimed at developing high-performance technologies for rubber and plastic products. We are a team with cross-disciplinary skills, driven by the desire to improve the quality of products and services at the sector level. This document is a manifesto of our sustainability practices, a policy defining our goal to spread more efficient solutions for the classic polymer processing methods.
Nature Wastes Nothing
Leaves fallen in autumn become soil by the following spring. Rubber molding by-products, on the other hand, are disposed of before the production of the next batch of the same item. Elastomers are notorious for the lack of readily available recycling. Innovations in depolymerization open a new chapter for elastomer waste treatment, but current technologies consume a lot of energy and toxic substances, which in the end may cause more harm than good. CSI aims to provide impact assessment services and promote new technologies in elastomer waste management.
Preventive Measures
We take responsibility for the environmental impact of our activities. We monitor our carbon footprint and carry out LCA studies on our processes. Our machines are designed with an ecodesign approach.
MF-15L, the automatic deburring system, separates the finished product from production scrap. Without external intervention, the machine enables the separate collection of scraps of different compositions. Our customers no longer need to worry about sorting scrap, saving costs and reducing environmental impact. Scrap processors receive better quality input to recycle rubber scraps into higher-quality secondary raw materials. CSI regenerates worn abrasives after surface finishing processes. Our polycarbonate regeneration system allows us to extend the life cycle and increase the efficiency of deburring operations. Together with our partner Walter Trowal, we are developing a water collection system from finishing with composite abrasives, which are then reused in the production of new abrasives. This collaboration enables us to create a circular process, diverting used composite from landfills and producing new abrasives from recycled material.
Social Awareness
Our actions and those of the industry located around Lake Iseo impact the lives and actions of the people. To mitigate this impact, we support the community that allows us to carry out our activities. Our workers are paid fairly, regardless of age, gender, or other characteristics such as social or legal status, ethnicity, or disability. We promote freedom of representation for every person.
CSI contributes to Croce Blu Basso Sebino, a volunteer association that supports our region with emergency health services and provides education aimed at helping individuals and communities improve their health by expanding knowledge or changing attitudes.
We support Atletica Paratico, a sports association in Paratico (BS), which organizes sporting events and creates inclusive spaces for all types of athletes residing around Lake Iseo.
We offer internships for students of ITS New Life Technologies and strive to give students the opportunity to explore themselves in a work environment and learn how theoretical skills find their place in industrial practice.
CSI maintains a connection with Fondazione EricPat, a humanitarian organization engaged for years in aiding communities in African countries.
Pragmatic and Holistic
CSI is committed to using its company to change current business approaches. If we can do the right thing while supporting economic needs, we can influence customers and other companies and perhaps change the current system along the way. We collaborate with partners worldwide to mitigate the damage we collectively create in finishing and coating processes. We rely on recognized tools and standards in the industry for our operations. When sufficiently rigorous standards do not yet exist, we create them. As a commitment to our own supply chain, CSI has expanded into sustainability consulting, offering support on how to measure, report, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions to our current and future clients and suppliers. A full list of our services can be found on the Sustainability page. We believe that providing education is important to develop awareness and proactive thinking when it comes to sustainability. Driven by the desire to promote change, we have decided to introduce training courses as part of the services offered.
